Discover our history

Our trajectory

A look back at the milestones that have defined our development and growth over the years.

2000

Foundation in Sweden

The company is based in Norway and focuses on innovative solutions for dredging and marine cleaning.

2015

First international project

We completed our first project outside Norway, marking the start of our global expansion.

2018

Cleaning technology

We are introducing cutting-edge technologies such as dewatering and antifouling based on polymers and geobags, which are revolutionising the sector.

2025

Arrival in Morocco

We have established our headquarters in Morocco, to better serve our customers and expand our activities in the Mediterranean region.

Our history

Draggage Maroc was born on the Norwegian coast, where it began its journey into the world of dredging and marine cleaning. With a clear vision of protecting and restoring marine ecosystems, the company moved to Morocco to expand its mission. Our mission is to offer innovative and sustainable solutions for the maintenance and restoration of harbours and beaches, always with a commitment to preserving the environment. Our vision is to be a leader in the sector, distinguished by our ecological responsibility and the quality of our services.

Our context

The Dragage Maroc team has more than 20 years’ experience in marine infrastructure projects in Sweden. Together, we have been working at sea for more than 100 years. From the outset, the company has focused on dredging, port and marine maintenance and construction work.

Over the years, the Dragage Maroc team has specialised in environmental dredging and harbour maintenance. We are also developing skills and methods for beach restoration by pumping sand from beaches after storms. Combined with the methods of our environmental dredging section, we can store sand for later use if required.

The construction of pars, barriers and breakwaters has also been a regular project.

Success in Sweden

The Dragage Maroc team set up a shipbuilding business in Sweden in 2000. Thanks to its entrepreneurial spirit, the company has grown to employ 200 people and generate sales of €20 million, making it Sweden’s largest organically growing marine company.

Certified with ISO certifications for environment, quality and occupational health and safety by The Norske Veritas (DNV). Since 2018, the focus has been on marine environmental projects, ports, marinas, rivers and beach dredging.

The team has developed a method and a functional system for safely extracting and dewatering sediments from the sea and rivers, reducing the transport and treatment of waste by more than 80% compared with conventional methods.

For these solutions, they received a prestigious award at the Ernst and Young ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ gala in Sweden.

Getting started in the Mediterranean

In 2018, the Swedish company was sold to one of Sweden’s largest construction groups.

The owner, Johan Eriksson, has a passion for marine life, and with the knowledge he has gained from creating and developing a leading marine environment company in Sweden, it was only natural to start working in the Mediterranean.

We believe we can make a difference thanks to our combined experience in these areas.

The management team

The management team consists of Swedish production managers and Moroccan directors. We are striving to create a marine environmental services company capable of managing the entire process of a marine project.

The management team have worked in the shipbuilding industry all their lives and together created a shipbuilding company in Sweden which, when sold to one of the largest construction groups in 2018, employed 200 workers and, with a turnover of €20 million, had become the largest organically growing shipbuilding company of all time. ISO-certified for the environment, quality and occupational health by The Norske Veritas (DNV).

From 2018, the management team focused solely on environmental dredging, marinas, ports and beach maintenance. Together, they have developed a method and system of working to safely remove and dewater sediments from the sea and rivers, reducing transport and waste treatment by more than 80% compared to conventional methods.

Today, they focus mainly on marine environmental projects, dredging ports, marinas, rivers and beaches.

For these solutions, they received a prestigious award at the ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ gala organised by Ernst and Young in Sweden.

Our technical team

Discover the machines behind Dragage Maroc, our driving force in dredging and marine cleaning.

We began our activities in Morocco with a fleet of dredgers and harbour barges. All are specially designed for dredging ports and marinas, as well as for beach regeneration projects such as :

  • Pumping sand and sediment from beaches.
  • Construction of wave protection, etc.

All our vessels are modern, equipped with the latest marine engines and designed to minimise CO2 emissions. Mobility is a key factor, and most of our equipment is suitable for truck transport and mobile crane lifting.

Our services

At Dragage Maroc, we specialise in sustainable solutions for the maintenance and restoration of marine and coastal environments. Our services are designed to meet environmental challenges and ensure the preservation of our marine ecosystems.

Dredging of Ports, Rivers and Coasts

We ensure navigability and safety in rivers and harbours by removing accumulated sediment and waste. Our approach to sustainable dredging minimises environmental impact, ensuring operations that respect the ecosystem.

Beach restoration

We use advanced techniques for beach regeneration, combating coastal erosion and restoring degraded beaches. Our aim is to restore beaches to their natural beauty and functionality, promoting sustainable coastal management.

Coastline protection

We install geosynthetic container systems as an economical and natural alternative to traditional rockfill. These solutions offer effective defence against erosion and help to preserve the coastline with little environmental impact.

Containment and Recycling of Algae

We offer solutions for the management of invasive algae in the Mediterranean Sea, in particular the Asian algae affecting the Spanish coast. Our containment systems prevent the algae from reaching the beaches, facilitating their removal and promoting the sustainable recycling of algae in the open sea.

Marine structures

We build marine structures such as seawalls, coastal revetments, breakwaters and jetties, supported by geotextiles. The main purpose of these structures is to mitigate the impact of waves, tides and storms, while promoting the regeneration of marine fauna.

Sludge drying

We use advanced techniques to desiccate sludge using geotextile tubes, reducing the volume of waste and facilitating its management and final disposal. This process is essential for the environmental management of sludge and sediment in dredging and marine clean-up projects, as it recovers much of the initial water.
